Field Setup/Take Down, Time Clock/Score Table, and Score Reporting Information
Field Setup/Take down
- The storage container has all of the game day supplies required. One box is located next to the storage building at the top of the parking lot near the stadium field. The other box is near the upper fields next to the tennis courts
- Lock code: Ask Coach, Team Manager, or Board Member for code.
- Supplies to bring down to the field: 6 large cones, 2-6 small cones, 12 game day balls (yellow for girls, white for boys), score table, score board, clock, chair, game book, air horn, and pens.
- 6 total field cones to be placed: 2 tall cones to be placed at each end line (end of field corners behind the nets using 4 total cones), 2 tall cones at each end of center field line.
- Smaller/shorter cones to be placed to create 'coaches' space and player sub in/out area on each side of the score table and if the refs prefer, at each end of both restraining lines. Please ask the ref/coaches what they prefer.
- 3 extra balls should be placed at each end of the field spread out behind the goals, about 2 feet outside of the field area.
- Sideline table, score board, score book, pen, time clock, air horn, and chair should be placed on the teams side of the field approx. 10 feet from the sideline at the center field line. 6 extra game balls are left at the score table.
- At the conclusion of the game, if there is not another game after, collect all items that were placed on the field and return to the storage container, including: balls, cones, score table equipment, etc.
- Lock the storage bin
Score table/Time clock
- Test the game clock and horn prior to the start of the game; game clock instructions are in the clock box. Extra batteries are in the storage bin.
- Have 6 game balls available at the scoring table for refs to access during the game (field set up person gets the balls for the table).
- Penalties should be tracked on the game sheet/book. Include team, player number, reason for penalty, and length (will be provided by the ref).
- It is easiest to set a timer for the penalty on your phone.
- Give the player a 20 second warning and then a 5 second countdown.
- Game quarters (4) are usually 12 minutes running time with 2 minute period breaks and a 5 minute halftime (refs will/should confirm this before the game). RUNNING CLOCK means the game clock runs continuously without stopping unless the official calls for a card, injury/emergency timeout, or team timeout. Please confirm with the refs at the start of the game if the time will stop for time outs and how they will signal to you that you should stop the clock.
Game Score Reporting Process
**New to the 2026 Season**
Scores can now be updated by the public on Tourney Machine THROUGH THE WEB BROWSER NOT APP instead of by filling out the Game Score Report Form. We do still ask that both teams submit the score, although the first team to submit it will be posted. Should scores be incorrect, please email kathryn@greatnorthernlacrosse.com for a score correction. Hopefully this makes the process of getting all the scores in easier.
